About CODI Manufacturing

Since 1992, CODI Manufacturing has been a Colorado-based, family-owned manufacturer specializing in custom industrial equipment and contract manufacturing. Our shop supports a wide range of industries including beverage, food, industrial, and OEM manufacturing. We are a vertically integrated operation with in-house cutting, forming, machining, and assembly capabilities.

We are growing and are seeking a Skilled Fabrication Technician to join our manufacturing team—someone who takes craftsmanship seriously, values teamwork, and wants to be part of a shop where their work directly impacts the final product.

Position Summary

The Skilled Fabrication Technician is a hands-on manufacturing role responsible for fabricating, assembling, and finishing metal components and assemblies used in custom equipment and contract manufacturing projects. This position works closely with shop leads, engineers, and fellow technicians to ensure parts are built accurately, efficiently, and to CODI’s quality standards.

This is not an assembly-line role. The work is varied, project-based, and requires attention to detail, problem-solving, and a strong commitment to quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate parts and assemblies from shop drawings using a variety of fabrication and machining processes

  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, including sheet metal and machined part prints

  • Set up and operate fabrication and machining equipment, including but not limited to:

    • Shears

    • Punch presses

    • Press brakes

    • Breakout and deburring equipment

    • Waterjet cutting systems

    • CNC mills and lathes

  • Perform fitting, fastening, and mechanical assembly of components and subassemblies

  • Support prototype builds, first-article parts, and iterative design improvements

  • Collaborate with engineering and shop leads to resolve fabrication, tolerance, or fit-up issues

  • Inspect parts for accuracy and quality prior to downstream operations or assembly

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

  • Follow established quality, safety, and documentation procedures

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment

  • Ability to read and work from mechanical and fabrication drawings

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

  • Comfortable working with hand tools, fabrication equipment, and CNC machinery

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team

  • Willingness to accept feedback and continuously improve skills

Preferred (Not Required) Qualifications

  • Experience with sheet metal fabrication and formed components

  • Experience operating CNC mills and/or lathes

  • Experience in food, beverage, packaging, or industrial equipment manufacturing

  • Familiarity with prototype or custom, low-volume manufacturing environments

  • Exposure to SolidWorks drawings, ERP systems, or shop travelers

What We Offer

  • Stable, full-time employment with a growing manufacturer

  • A collaborative shop environment where your work is visible and valued

  • A wide variety of projects rather than repetitive production work

  • Competitive compensation based on experience

  • Opportunities to grow skills alongside engineering and leadership teams
