FAQs

Who is CODI Manufacturing?

CODI Manufacturing is a Colorado-based manufacturer of automation systems, material handling equipment, and power control solutions. For over 30 years, we have designed and built equipment serving beverage, industrial, and infrastructure customers in North America and around the globe.

Where is your equipment built?

All CODI systems are manufactured in our 100,000 sq. ft. facility in Littleton, Colorado. We maintain in-house capabilities including stainless fabrication, copper bus production, electrical panel assembly, automation build, controls integration, and final system testing.

What does CODI build?

CODI’s integrated manufacturing portfolio includes:

  • Palletizers and depalletizers
  • Conveyor and material handling systems
  • Rinsers and packaging line accessories
  • Robotic handling solutions
  • UL 891 switchboards
  • UL 508A industrial control panels
  • UL 67 panelboards
  • UL 1008 ATS cabinets and enclosures

What differentiates CODI?

Unlike many integrators or resellers, we build what we sell. Engineering, fabrication, electrical assembly, controls integration, and testing are performed in-house. This vertical integration allows us to control quality, shorten lead times, and support customers throughout the equipment lifecycle, not just during installation.

Are your products standard or custom?

Most CODI equipment is configured to the customer’s requirements. We begin by understanding the application and the problem that needs to be solved, including:

  • Throughput requirements
  • Package formats
  • Facility layouts
  • Integration requirements

Can CODI equipment integrate with existing equipment?

Yes. We understand the complexity of industrial layouts, and our machines can typically integrate with existing equipment with minimal modification.

Can CODI design a complete beverage production line?

Yes. CODI has designed and built complete beverage production lines for years, from depalletizing through packout and everything in between. Visit our Industries page for examples and a starting point for your project.

What patents does CODI hold?

CODI holds multiple U.S. patents covering filling, seaming, cleaning, and conveying systems. These patented technologies were developed to improve line performance, reliability, and product quality.

CODI’s patented filling and seaming innovations include:

  • Counterpressure filling control using modulated pinch valves, enabling infinite fill and snift setpoints through the HMI to accommodate varying carbonation levels, temperatures, and product types.
  • Continuous-motion, position-controlled seaming capable of up to 65 cans per minute, providing consistent seam quality while reducing dissolved oxygen through synchronized LN₂ dosing.

CODI’s Loop Rinser patent uses a vacuum conveyor to invert and rinse cans with ionized air, eliminating traditional twist rinsers and significantly reducing changeover time for multi-size production lines.

CODI’s conveyor retrofit patents replace conventional roller conveyors with modular plastic belt systems, providing:

  • Lower operating noise
  • Reduced wear and container damage
  • Improved sanitation
  • Simplified maintenance

These upgrades extend conveyor service life while improving line reliability.

What service support is available after installation?

Visit our Service page for additional information. CODI provides:

  • Replacement parts support
  • Technical phone assistance
  • On-site field service
  • Preventative maintenance planning

What power control equipment does CODI manufacture?

CODI builds power distribution equipment including:

  • UL 891 switchboards
  • UL 508A industrial control panels
  • UL 67 panelboards
  • UL 1008 ATS cabinets and enclosures

We also provide contract manufacturing for power distribution companies and continue to expand our power control product portfolio.

How does a project typically start?

Projects begin with a consultation to review your requirements, budget, constraints, urgency, and integration challenges. From there, we develop concept layouts, scopes of work, and formal project proposals.

Are your electrical assemblies UL listed?

Yes. Applicable products are fabricated and labeled in accordance with relevant UL standards, including UL 891, UL 508A, UL 67, and UL 1008.

Do you build outdoor or stainless-steel enclosures?

Yes. CODI manufactures:

  • NEMA 3R and 3RX outdoor enclosures
  • Stainless-steel enclosures for washdown and corrosive environments
  • Custom cabinets for infrastructure and data center applications

Does CODI provide installation services?

CODI provides installation services through our in-house service team and coordinates field installation using qualified service partners who operate according to our established standards.

Do you stock spare parts?

Yes. We stock many common replacement components and can provide expedited fabrication for custom parts. Some machine components are manufactured by suppliers and may not always be available from stock, but we expedite them when necessary.

Do you sell directly or through dealers?

CODI works with a select group of trusted resellers and service partners in specific geographic regions. We also collaborate with integrators and other value-added partners throughout the supply chain. Reseller information is available upon request.

What are your lead times?

Because most CODI equipment is configured or customized for each project, lead times vary by equipment type and project complexity. Fabrication, electrical panel building, and system integration are performed internally, allowing CODI to reduce reliance on outsourced manufacturing. Confirmed schedules are provided during quoting, and customers receive updates throughout the manufacturing process.

Do you perform Factory Acceptance Testing?

Yes. Factory Acceptance Testing, or FAT, is available and is a common project requirement, especially for contract manufacturing customers. Testing is performed at our facility in Littleton, Colorado.

Do you export equipment outside North America?

Yes. CODI has equipment installations throughout the world. We can also manufacture equipment to applicable CE requirements for projects in the European Union.
