DPL-500
DPL-500 ENHANCED
DEPALLETIZER
Automated depalletizer with pallet staging | continuous flow can depal | mid-volume beverage packaging line
The CODI DPL-500 is a high-speed can depalletizer that runs up to 500 CPM with pallet staging, automated infeed, and self-discharging empty pallets. It handles everything our DPL-250 does but adds a meaningful layer of automation to reduce front-end operator interaction. Full layer sweeps feed a mass-accumulation before single-filing into the line upstream of your canning system. The enclosed-chain counterbalance lift prevents contamination, and VFD-controlled drives let you tune speed to match your production line.

PRODUCT FEATURES
Enclosed-Chain Counterbalance Lift
No overhead grease drip points above open cans. The lift mechanism is fully enclosed, keeping contamination risks out of the product path where they don't belong.
Automated Pallet Staging and Infeed
A staging area holds the next full pallet and loads it automatically when the current one runs out. Less time standing at the depal, more time running the rest of the line.
Mass Conveyor to Single Filer
Full layer sweeps land on a mass-accumulation belt before transitioning to single file. That buffer keeps flow steady and prevents jams at the handoff point.
Automated Empty Pallet Discharge
Empty pallets clear without operator handling. It's one less thing your team has to manage during a run.

High-Throughput Automation
Pallet Staging Area — Holds a full pallet to maintain continuous flow without reloading.
Automated Pallet Infeed — Automatically loads the next staged pallet when the current one is emptied.
Automated Empty Pallet Discharge — Clears empty pallets without operator handling.
Full Top-Layer Sweep — Sweeps an entire layer onto the mass conveyor (required for high-speed applications).
Mass Conveyor Discharge — Transfers layers onto a mass-accumulation belt before single-filing for high-speed lines.
Increased Slip Sheet Accumulation — Stacks slip sheets for organized return to the can maker.
Core CODI Depalletizer Engineering
Chain Lift System — Enclosed, counterbalanced lift for clean, reliable layer transfer.
Side-Driven Sweep — Locking hardware keeps cans stable and protected during the sweep motion.
Slip Sheet Removal — Integrated mechanism eliminates manual removal and speeds throughput.
Single Filer Conveyor — Smooth, consistent transition from mass flow to single file.
Flexible Configurations
Multiple Models & Heights — Available in various configurations to match line layout and can-handling needs.
Operator-Focused Design
Large Touchscreen Controls — Enhanced visibility and ease of use for high-speed environments.

FAQ
What does the DPL-500 automate that the DPL-250 does not?
Top rack removal, empty pallet ejection, slip sheet stacking, and pallet staging. The staging area loads the next pallet automatically when one empties and discharges the empty without operator involvement, so the line runs continuously instead of pausing for changeover. For a less-automated depalletizer, consider the DPL-250.
How many pallets can the DPL-500 stage?
One to five additional staged pallets, specified at order. More staging means longer unattended runtime between forklift deliveries. A 90 degree corner pallet conveyor in right or left hand configuration is available where floor layout requires it.
What throughput does the DPL-500 support and how are cans discharged?
Up to 500 CPM under ideal conditions. Full layers sweep onto a mass-accumulation conveyor, then single-file into the line. That accumulation buffer absorbs variation between the depalletizer and downstream equipment, which matters more as line speed rises. For higher volumes the DPL-1000 runs to 1,400 CPM.
How is dunnage handled on the DPL-500?
Racks and slip sheets can be collected combined or sorted, specified at order. Slip sheet storage options include a collection rack, top-mounted slide, low-level catch bin slide, or vertical catch bin. Sorting dunnage at the depalletizer saves separating it later.
