Position Summary
CODI Manufacturing is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to oversee the movement, packaging, documentation, and organization of industrial machines, parts, and fabricated materials. This role is responsible for packaging machinery and components for shipment, coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, supporting inventory accuracy, and helping keep production moving efficiently.
The ideal candidate is organized, hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a custom manufacturing environment where shipments range from small parts to large industrial equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Package machinery and fabricated components on skids or in crates
Coordinate daily shipping and receiving activity
Receive incoming materials, verify quantities, and inspect for visible damage
Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, palletizing, and documentation
Work with freight carriers, LTL providers, parcel carriers, and internal teams
Maintain accurate records for received goods, shipped items, packing lists, and bills of lading
Support inventory control, material staging, and job-specific part organization
Communicate shortages, damaged goods, or shipment issues to purchasing and production leadership
Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment safely
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping and receiving area
Required Responsibilities
Experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing support
Ability to read packing lists, purchase orders, and basic job documentation
Forklift experience or willingness to be trained
Strong organization and communication skills
Ability to lift up to 50lbs, move, and handle materials safely
Reliable attendance and strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial equipment environment
Experience shipping large or irregular equipment
Familiarity with freight scheduling, bills of lading, and carrier coordination
Inventory or job traveler experience
Forklift certification
